Process Safety & Risk Intelligence

Tools for safer industrial processes and better risk decisions.

PSRI develops digital tools for process safety, explosion protection and industrial risk analysis — built around how safety engineering is actually practised, not around what is easy to automate.

PSRI is at an early stage. The tools described on this site are under development — none are generally available yet, and nothing here claims otherwise.

Platform

One platform, several tools, a shared model of risk.

Process safety work is fragmented across formats: workshop minutes, explosion protection documents, safety concepts, action lists, audit records. Each artefact is produced with care and then becomes difficult to reuse.

PSRI approaches this as a data problem rather than a document problem. Tools are developed independently but share one underlying representation of hazards, safeguards and responsibilities — so that findings from one context remain usable in another.

Process safety
Hazard analysis, protection concepts and the reasoning that connects them.
Industrial risk analysis
Structured methods such as HAZOP and LOPA, supported rather than replaced.
Safety engineering workflows
The sequence of session, finding, action and verification, kept intact.
Structured risk intelligence
Expert assessments retained as comparable data instead of one-off prose.

Tool catalogue

What is being built.

Each entry below is a concept under active development. Status is stated plainly on every card and updated as work progresses.
  • Workshop support

    Concept

    Risk Assessment Copilot

Assistance for structured risk analysis sessions — capturing what experts establish, in the structure the methodology requires.

  • Documentation

    Concept

    Safety Document Intelligence

Making the safety documentation of a plant searchable and cross-referenced instead of merely archived.

  • Plant portal

    Concept

    Plant Safety Explorer

An interactive view of a plant in which risks, safeguards and responsibilities are attached to the equipment they belong to.

  • Knowledge base

    Concept

    Risk Intelligence

Structured expert assessments, accumulated across analyses, as a basis for comparison and quantification.

Approach

Principles the tools are built on.

Safety-critical work sets constraints that general-purpose software does not have to respect. These are ours.
  1. 01

Expert judgement stays with the expert

These tools structure and preserve what a qualified engineer establishes. They do not issue safety verdicts and they do not replace the responsible assessor.

  2. 02

    Structure over summary

A risk analysis is not prose. Hazards, causes, consequences and safeguards are distinct objects with relationships — and are stored that way, so they remain comparable later.

  3. 03

    Traceable by construction

Every derived statement points back to its source: the document, the session, the person who confirmed it. Untraceable output is not useful in a safety context.

  4. 04

    Readable by machines

Tools are designed for API access from the outset. What a person can retrieve through the interface, a system or an agent should be able to retrieve too.

Working on something where these tools would help?

PSRI is looking for conversations with plant operators, safety engineers and process industry specialists — particularly about which of these tools would earn its place first.
